Wooops...

Almost forgot about this thing, haha.

Ok, so on the job-hunting front, I applied and interviewed with another employment agency last week. Sounds fairly promising. I need to go back this week to finalize some paperwork, then they should be able to get me something. Yay!

Sweepstakes are still not being good to me. The other night I got an email that I won a Bacardi t-shirt. Yay. All my problems are solved! Ah well, just gotta keep the faith. You can't win if you don't enter and all that bullshit. I'll just keep plugging along. It's free and it's not like I have anything else to do.

These last couple of weeks have been insanely warm. It's been more like April than February. I wonder if these means we'll get one of those freak snowstorms in March? I kind of hope we do. I love extreme weather. And this winter has been boring as hell.

And because I can't think of anything else to say, here's another screenshot from EQ2.

Mmm... coffee...

I won a bag of Seattle's Best coffee today. Honestly, I really don't like that kind. If that's the best Seattle has to offer, they should really go back to the drawing board. But hey, it's free and it's coffee. I'll take it.

On my original post, I mentioned that I also like to play video games. Well, I really only play one. It's called Everquest 2. It's a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). I've been playing it off and on since November 2004, when it first came out. It's kind of a hobby.

Some people are familiar with World of Warcraft. EQ2 is similar to that. In a nutshell, you create a character like an elf, dwarf, gnome, etc., and that character takes on a class like wizard, assassin, cleric, etc. You travel through the world, hunting, gathering adventuring either alone or with other players. And there's no real end to the game. Unlike single-player games, MMOs are constantly changing and they have new content added. So, even though there might be a top level (you start out at level one and go up from there), being at the top level doesn't necessarily mean you've won the game and there's nothing else to do. So that's why you can play these types of games for years and really not run out of things to do.

A couple of things that I really like about EQ2 is how it caters to almost every play style. There are the "hard core" players out there that like to get together with other players almost every night and go on raids. This is where you get about 24 or more players together and tackle some of the biggest, baddest guys in the game. When I was younger, I used to do this occasionally. But raids take up a lot of time and I just got tired of having a game that was starting to feel like a second job.

EQ2 is very solo-friendly, meaning I can log into the game and if I want, I can play alone. There is a chat feature in the game, and I've made friends with some other players. So even though I might be out there, slaying goblins by myself, I can still interact with other people through the chat feature. In these types of games, you're never totally alone.

Also, EQ2 has a housing feature. Your character can own and decorate his/her own house. And for some people, this is the most fun aspect of this game. I enjoy the housing part of it also, but I'm not the decorator that some are.

Alright, that's enough for now. All this talking about it has made me want to hop in and start playing, haha. But here's a couple of pictures first:

An example of one of my characters houses. She no longer has this house, she's moved on to a bigger one.

And here's one of my characters, a druid, on her tiger mount.

Feels good

Since it's been so long since I've worked out, and I've basically become a lazy-ass couch potato, I need to easy myself back into working out. Thank god for the little 10-minute workouts they have on On Demand. I just did one and even though it was tough, I'm sitting here now and I feel pretty good! We're not made to just sit around, and that's so evident once you get up and get the blood flowing and MOVE. But I'm not stupid and I'm also not 25 any more. I need to take it slow. In a little while I'll do another 10 minute segment. And hopefully this slow but steady pace will help me get back into better shape.

Nothing new on the job front. I still apply to something every few days. But I'm starting to wonder if I'll be one of the many out there that just can't find work.

Just another day

Just checking in... not much going on right now.

That printer showed up this week. I was really surprised to see it so early. And instead of selling it, I'm going to send it to my sister. She said her boyfriend could use it for his work.

The sweepstakes site I use has a forum. And one of the members posted a couple of days ago that she won $10,000. That really gives me hope that I can win something like that one of these days. Just gotta keep plugging along!

On the work front, I'm still looking. I never heard anything back from that telemarketing job. Which is kind of odd, since those kinds of places have such a high turnover, that they'll hire almost anyone. I might try and give them another call next week. And today I applied for a data entry job. But there's just still not much out there. I get a job search emailed to me every day and it seems like most of the jobs are for forklift drivers or nannies. I can't drive a forklift and there's no way in hell I could be a nanny. Half the time, I'm looking for someone to watch my kid for me.
